If you appreciate fresh seafood, sourced locally, priced fairly in an open casual atmosphere you just have to give Tide Tables a try. It's conveniently located on the east side of the ICW in the shadow of the Cortez bridge as you're headed toward the Manatee River from Longboat Pass. Coming in from a day of fishing or just hanging out at the sandbar at Jewfish or Passage Key there is no more of a convenient stop for boaters.
With a nod to it's home in Cortez, settled in the 1880s and now is the last working commercial fishing village on Florida’s Gulf coast, it serves only the freshest seafood many times cleaned right here on their docks! It's not unusual to see see one of the commercial vessels unloading and cleaning tomorrow's table fare while you're tying up at the docks.
There are two sets of docks that can accommodate up to 16 boats and depending on the day and time you are more than likely than not to find a spot to tie up for your visit.

We've been here a few times and every time we visit I promise myself that I will order something else but having started with the grouper sandwich and not having found a better spot for the same I always seem to end up back where I started... If it ain't broke, don't fix it and their grouper sandwich is tough to beat. I like mine blackened with fries and my wife went with the fried variety and chips. As you can see it's a healthy portion and unlike many restaurants the fried version is lightly breaded so what you see is 99% fresh flaky fish and not breading.
From the appetizers, baskets, sandwiches, soups, salads and daily specials you are sure to find something that appeals to your tastes and I'd be very surprised if you're not satisfied.
If you're motoring along the ICW near Anna Maria, Longboat Key or the Manatee River make it a point to stop by the Tide Tables, I guarantee your first visit won't be your last... even those on vacation in the area always seem to find an excuse to get back!
