If you haven't been by the Swordfish Grill in awhile you'll want to get by and enjoy the new features as no expense was spared in adding the additional covered dining area, the huge authentic thatched roof covering the tiki bar area, and the new sea wall/dock/pilings! Thankfully they didn't chage anything in the kitchen as the food was just as good as it's always been.
The first thing you'll notice is in tying up, there's still the same amount of dock space (enough for 12 or 13 boats depending upon the size) but the new pilings with better spacing and solid concrete walkway improves everything for everyone.
As you can see from the images there is no problem getting out of the sun and almost every seat has a good view of the water. On this visit we had a seat at the tiki bar while waiting for our table but with Jessie's service being so fast and friendly we just stayed.
Appetizers
- Smoked Fish Spread
- Dozen Raw Oysters
- Tuna Poke Sald Bowl
- Firecracker Shrimp Tacos
- House Garden Salad
Everything came out exactly as expected and as frequent guests we can also attest to the quality of most everything else on the menu from our previous visits: shrimp, oysters, stone crab claws, seafood platter, grouper sandwich, etc.
If you haven't been, get there and be sure to check out their website/Facebook for specials and events! Live music "9 days a week" 10 beers on tap, craft cocktails, fast, friendly service and an old Cortez atmosphere where "every day is a holiday and every meal is a feast"!
