We stopped by the New Pass Grill on our visit to Aquapalooza 2023 for a quick bite and quickly understood how this local landmark since 1929 has withstood the test of time. Initially it looked like the docks were full but within 15 minutes two boats pulled out and we and another were able to get in. It seems that many know we learned.... New Pass Grill is exceptional at getting good food out quickly!
My wife ordered the Shrimp Jammers (Jalapeno Poppers, plus Shrimp) and my daughter went with a chicken finger basket while I nursed a couple of cold Corona Lights. Everything was good, with the Jammers outstanding and we would come back again but what really set New Pass Grill apart was just how quickly they were able to get the food out and we could be on our way.

Reading the Google reviews it's clear that I missed the boat and on our next visit I definitely need to try one of the award winning burgers, a fresh grouper sandwich or one of the daily fresh catch specials.
A quick trip through the bait shop and I'm guessing, with the selection of live baits, it has to a go to spot for those heading to the passes for tarpon or offshore for pelagics or the bottom dwellers. For those heading out through New Pass in Sarasota it's a quick stop and who else has live pass crabs?
