Olde Bay Cafe Dunedin

Olde Bay Cafe Dunedin

The Olde Bay Cafe is located on the East side of the Intracoastal Waterway directly across from Caladesi State Park in Dunedin. There are four floating docks at the end of the pier reserved for visitors so you should be able to find a spot except for the busiest of times but as the sign says... if the wind is blowing the docks will be rocking so be prepared.

FEATURING
  • Waterfront Dining
  • Casual Atmosphere
  • Every Table Water Views
  • Fresh Seafood
  • Fast/Friendly Service

The Olde Bay Cafe was inspired by the vision to provide an old Florida atmosphere where locals could enjoy beautiful views, freshly boated seafood, and a cold beer from the original Dunedin Fish Company.

Their secret to success is in keeping things simple, being sure that it's done right, and focusing on the quality/freshness of the seafood with friendly/attentive servers. All the seafood is pan seared, finished in the oven and served with your choice of chips, potato salad, fruit, salad, coleslaw or veggies in garlic butter (you won't find any fryers here).

We ordered a pound of floaters ($15) with our beverages and I made the mistake of leaving the table for a few minutes to talk to the habormaster.

The ladies made quick work of the stone crab claws though they were kind enough to spare my beverage.

My wife ordered the crab salad sandwich, my sister in law the crab stuffed avacado and I went with the blackened grouper sandwich. The ladies said their food was fantastic and the grouper sandwich was a very lightly blackened 6oz filet cooked to perfection.

Samantha, my sister in law, has been bragging about this place and the city of Dunedin for some time and it was nice to be able to confirm her opinion. If you're out and about in north Pinellas County you'll want to stop by the Dunedin Munipal Marina for a visit to The Olde Bay Cafe for great views, good food along with fast/friendly service. If you have some time you may want to make a day of it as downtown Dunedin will take you back to a time before the take over of restaurant chains, fast food places and tourist traps.
