My wife and I booked a weekend at the Bay Palms Waterfront Resort in St. Pete Beach, part of the Plaza Beach Resorts Family of award winning boutique hotels. We just love spending time on the water and the idea of doing the weekend entirely by boat was something that we had been looking forward to. We chose Bay Palms due to the abundance of options by water so close. With the restaurants/bars of Blind Pass, Gulfport Beach, Tierra Verde and Pass A Grille all within 15 minutes and the sand bars of Bunces Pass, Johns Pass and then Egmont Key all so close it was a no brainer!
Beyond the convenient location, having the boat in the protected inlet of McPherson Bayou docked right behind our room was just too much to turn down! There's just something special about checking on the boat by just opening the drapes!

Pulling up to the resort it was great to see the refurbished docks, newer pilings with brand new edging along the pilings to protect the boat extended down to the waterline at low tide. No worries about scraping up the finish with the tide change and with just a gentle breeze and no waves we felt comfortable just tying up to one side! Water/electric is conveniently located at each slip so you can rinse it down at the end of the day, charge your trolling motor batteries, and flush the motors.
We were taken aback after checking in to be welcomed to our suite with a personal note, bottle of champagne and our accommodations were amazing... full kitchen, sitting room and spacious sleeping quarters, tastefully decorated with original art from renowned Florida marine artist Steve Diossy. We had really hit this one out of the park and when you get the chance to visit see if #809 is available, we guarantee you won't be disappointed! We definitely weren't expecting so much space and we will definitely be taking advantage of it on the next visit!
