It has been quite a long time since we've seen such beautiful weather at Gasparilla and it was obviously appreciated by all. The numbers were way up and everyone seemed to be having the best of times! Applying the lessons from last years traffic jam at the convention center the authorities went a little overboard (pardon the pun) by restricting all traffic in that area from the moment Jose Gaspar left Bayonette Point.
Great idea but just a little early for our tastes as we were unable to access the channel northewest of the hospital (along Bayshore) or Riverwalk until after the boat was safely docked.
It was great to see so many having such a great time and for us it was beyond fantastic not to get beat up on the ride up from Manatee!
