While talking to a couple of retailers about sponsoring a vessel I was scouring Craig's List, Boat Trader, etc. trying to find something reliable for under $9,000. Knowing that I didn't want two payments and the 98' Tacoma wasn't going to do the trick I picked up a 2011 Dakota with 9K miles thanks to AutoNation Toyota Scion in Pinellas Park (ask for Jim Keyes).

I narrowed it down to the two best values that I could find on either source in my price range based on the NADA Guides.

My first choice was a 2002 20' Aquasport Osprey with a 175HP Johnson. My offer, $9,000 under NADA was accpeted and we just had to do the compression test and sea trial. When I got there they were having difficulty with the batteries and the compression was between 92 and 107 so we skipped the sea trial and I went to look at my second choice.

Our offer of $7,500 on a 2002 18' Wellcraft Fisherman with a 115 Jonson was accpeted by Micheal at Antonietti Marine in Hudson ($5,000 under NADA). We set up a time the following day to do the compression test and sea trial.

Both were flawless, compression betweeen 110 & 115, fired right up, ran/handled fine, nav lights, bilge pump, solid transom, etc. so it's sitting in the front yard now.

There is no point in the investment for the boat, camera, lenses, etc nor in taking great images, if no one knows where to find them. I took my prediciment, and my logo, to the good folks at Sign-A-Rama in Pinellas Park who put together a package within my budget and then went above and beyond to be sure I was satisfied! (The dimensions/layout of my logo can be a challenge)

Unbelievable... for around $300 I got the logo prominently displayed on both sides of the boat and a banner that easily attaches to either side of the bimini depending upon the tide and the direction of sunlight.
